After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business from Fayetteville State University, Master of Leadership from Central Michigan University, Master of Business Administration from Virginia Technical and State University, and Doctor of Education from North Carolina State University, Dr. McLauchlin embarked on a career in higher education where she was highly successful in impacting the lives of her students academically and spiritually.
Colette is the author of “The Devil Made Me Do It,” winner of the 2019 Best Book Ready for Film from GloryReelz Film Festival, and a finalist in the Phillis Wheatley, Harlem First Books awards. Her second book, “Tell The Truth, The Devil Won’t’ is listed as a five-star review on Amazon and Good Reads.

Colette’s YouTube channel, Mother Sweat- Collards-N-Cornbread, the Seasonings of Life, brings down-home humor and wisdom in each episode. She crafts each experience full of common sense living for an uncommon life.
Colette is a motivational speaker, teaching customer and human service workshops on state and national levels. Her partnership with Dr. Norma McLauchlin Ministries and Chosen Pen Publishers has resulted in their Choose to Forgive Retreats in the Smokey Mountains. She is a story editor for Chosen Pen Publishing. The two are now working on a talk show, Chosen 2 Soar, that will feature all things literary in the Spring of 2021.
Colette has spoken at various book fairs, festivals, conferences and ministered at churches, brunches, and luncheons. Her ultimate goal is to be part of helping others live their best lives. A Detroit native, she currently resides in Columbus, Ohio, engaging others through all platforms with humor and compassion to minister to the human heart.
